REDACCION / PANAMA AMERICAEl ministro para Asuntos del Canal y encargado de la Secretaría del Metro, Roberto Roy, señaló que la Línea 1 tiene 95% de avance, mientras que la licitación de la Línea 2, que llegará hasta la 24 de Diciembre, se podría estar realizando a principio del próximo año. Sobre este aspecto, Roy dijo que continúan haciendo los estudios de ambiente y el preliminar del trazado. En cuanto a la Línea 3, también están en análisis de demanda y del trazado y viendo el tema del cuarto puente.
Se estima que los estudios estén listos para abril o mayo de 2014, por lo que en estos momentos todavía no se sabe cuánto costará. Al finalizar esta fase se podrá conocer un monto estimado.

23/12/2013 - Un lobby internacional inició el Gobierno para anunciar los megaproyectos de infraestructura en los que invertirá Panamá y en los cuales hace falta financiamiento.

Una conferencia telefónica entre el ministro de Economía y Finanzas, Frank De Lima, e inversores internacionales revela las prioridades de la administración de Ricardo Martinelli, que a menos de seis meses de terminar promueve licitaciones multimillonarias y traza un cronograma inversionista hasta el año 2015.

De Lima elaboró y presentó este mes un documento en el que se plasman los detalles de la conferencia. En la lista de los proyectos anunciados se destacan la segunda y tercera línea del Metro de Panamá, con un costo preliminar conjunto de 4 mil millones de dólares.

De acuerdo con el cálculo del Ministerio de Economía y Finanzas (MEF), la segunda línea precisa de un financiamiento inicial de 2 mil 200 millones de dólares, y pronostica en mil 800 millones de dólares la suma suficiente para el tercer tramo.
