ROD'S DIARY FEB 27 SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA

Well I did sleep well -- til about 2am then wide awake again. Getting really fed up with this and feeling tired and when I get tired I can get ratty which unfortunately is not the best ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ demeanours on tour!! Also really missing Kathy and the kids now -- it's been over three weeks and I have never been away more than that since our kids were born. Anyway life goes on and it was up and down with laptop to pass time and finally got to sleep again at I think about 4 but at least slept through til 11.

Ordered breakfast and with it came the national paper with Ed Force One emblazoned all over the front page! We will try to get a copy back home to scan for the site -- in fact I must check if we have a scanner in the production office at the shows as this would be quicker. Worked until it was time to go

Around this time I found out that the tour almost got cancelled!! Nicko is a fan ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ dangerous sports as I am sure you know (not)!! Especially golf, the most dangerous ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ them all!! Well it is if you get hit by a ball going at the speed ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ light. And he was hit and painfully so, right on the forearm about an inch from the joint ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ his wrist. A bit further down and it would certainly have broken and that would have been it - on the plane and go home. He immediately went for an X-Ray and thankfully no break, but a lot ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ bruising and swelling. Apparently someone hit off a tee at a neighbouring hole which was behind trees and the ball somehow managed to weave its way through all that wood to hit Nick!! But he got through OK albeit in some pain. And boy was he sheepish when I saw him, he knew what was at stake and didnt need me to tell him. But what are the chances ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ this happening, one in millions so couldnt be too hard on him!!! You have to get out and about a bit on tour if you can.

Janick did - he went off into the rainforests in search ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ volcanic activity, and found it. He even got asked for autographs in the back ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ beyond. He also took one ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ the film cameras so he could film a bit ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ this truly beautiful country for our documentary - but no doubt he will want paying!! Davey would normally be out and about too but he is still under the weather though putting a brave face to it as he always does and improving daily. H was also talking about playing some tennis with steve and the doc guys but I dont know if this happened.

I was going to leave for the show with Bruce at about 4.30 but Gaddsy called to say there was really ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ one way into the stadium and this was packed with fans so we should go later. Even with the usual Police escort it took Steve 90min to get there. So we were due to go at 5.30...same.....6.30...same...finally got off at 7 -- it took us 20 min as roads were clear as all kids in venue by now. A word here about our Police outriders. These are usually on bikes, anything between 2 and 8 depending on route. We get taken from airport to hotel as traffic is often so bad and ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ course to and from the show. They always ask for autographs and have been really helpful. They certainly make our lives so much easier by carving a way to our destination -- wish I had them for the morning school run in Brighton. I guess it's a testament to the band's importance in these countries that we are able to acquire them at all.

The stadium, the biggest venue in Costa Rica, was packed to the rafters and made a great sight. Lauren played and went down a storm and then the Maiden Maiden chants got louder and LOUDER as showtime approached
One ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ the irrefutable Laws ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ the Universe is that Latin audiences are just the best. Sorry guys, but we North and Eastern Europeans, North Americans, Aussies and the rest just can't match them for sheer passion. We may appreciate the bands equally but our Latin friends are just hot wired genetically to be much more intense and emotional and a full on Latin audience is a joy to behold, whether it's Italy, Spain, Portugal or Mexico or Costa Rica -- or as we shall soon see again Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. As you all know Maiden pour out a lot ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ intensity and passion from on stage and these audiences return it with huge interest!!
And this audience tonight was every bit as great as any we have ever experienced. Early in the set they stopped the show for 5 minutes chanting for the band and the lights glowing throughout the stadium for FotD was again very moving. Every arm was in the air almost throughout the show -- and many had been standing for hours after camping out nearby for a week to get near the front. There was even a massive Mexican wave involving everyone out there it appeared!

Naturally the band enjoyed it all immensely and, having got offstage quickly and into the vans, we were back at the hotel and soon in the bar very quickly. And a very good night was had by all and sundry!! Chris from Metal Hammer returns to the UK and we are joined by Ben and photographer Chris from Q who are running a major piece on Colombia soon. They had ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ arrived about 10 so missed the show but are joining us on Ed Force One for the trip to Bogota to experience the arrival in another country in grip ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ a Maiden fever. But more ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ that later.

Nunca falta un imbecil, yo fui al aeropuerto a recibirlos y casi se me salen las lagrimas al ver el avion, asi que me estas diciendo ridiculo malparido hijo de puta, ojala no te vuelvas a meter a este tema ignorante, bueno ya me desquite con este bruto.
Amigos aun ando emocionado, sigo escuchando solo Maiden y con los compas solo hablamos de ese grandioso día, y dar una lista de las canciones que mas me llegaron esta dificil ya que todas me pusieron la carne de gallina, pero The Rime ...., Wasted Years, me hicieron llorar, que perfeccion de concierto.

UP THE IRONS.

Cabe de más decir lo bueno que estuvo el conciertazo. Aunque no soy metalero de pura cepa como muchos de este foro, desde hace uno 7 años por ahi un compañero me pasó el Number ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ the beast, y junto al beast ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ the beast era uno de los discos que siempre cargaba en mi discman y ahora en mi reproductor de mp3. Cabe mencionar que no soy muy conocedor del metal, pero si me considero seguidor de buena música y de un buen producto en su totalidad, Iron Maiden cumplió y supero expectativas. Por ahi mi madre se preoucupaba del monton de camisetas negras, pero yo le dije, que era muchisimo mas peligroso uno de esos conciertos de regueton o de fiestas como palmares, puerto, liberia, que el concierto de Maiden, a lo que me dio la razón con el articulo de ayer en la nacion.

Gente si yo quede emocionado y extasiado con el concierto, no imagino como ustedes pudieron haber quedado, felicidades a todos.

Por utlimo como curiosidad el miercoles me encontre en mi casa que la perra habia tenido 7 perritos y ya tienen nombre en honor al conciertazo.
Laa perritas se llaman: Janick, Harris y Dick
Los perritos se llaman: Niko, Adrian, Dave y Eddie

Y para todo el resto no le hagan caso a mike-o, a lucho, ni a ninguno de esos. No vale la pena. La gente con baja autoestima todo le parece ridiculo, porque ellos no tienen el valor para ser ellos mismos. Nosotros tenemos una personalidad muy bien definida, y por eso no tenemos complejos de nada. Yo me fui a dar vueltas a ver si veia el Ed Force, pero ya era muy tarde cuando fui y ya lo habian guardado. Y es que no me podia venir antes del brete (igual, esta semana solo trabaje un dia porque pedi dos libres y me mandaron a la casa Jueves y Viernes porque me enferme) entonces no lo vi a tiempo, pero les aseguro que yo tambien me hubiera puesto a llorar (igual, lo hice cuando apenas encendieron las luces del escenario y cuando Bruce dijo el tan esperado: SCREAM FOR ME COSTA RICA!!!!.

Ven, entonces dejenlos con sus complejitos de inferioridad porque ellos lo unico que hacen es el ridiculo y pues, que triste que no tengan nada que los haga emocionarse en sus vidas tanto como nosotros, por eso no les queda de otra que criticar...

Irons, han logrado ver fotos que han puesto del concierto en otros paises centroamericanos? yo he estado buscando, pero no encuentro muchas, a los hnos de centroamerica, entren a la pagina de Al Dia.co.cr y vean que buenas fotos tienen ahi, tambien en la Nacion.com, si saben de alguna pagina de sus paises donde tengan fotos compartanlas, tuanis gente, aca feliz escuchando Maiden y cuando escucho algunas del concierto me dan unos escalofrios jejeje.

JAajajaja me diveirte saber ue tan buena produccion ha tenido la finquita que han llegado de precaristas emos, estupidos, imbeciles , mas imbeciles , lucho y este mae del aeropuerto mae sabe que yo no pude ir a ver el avion y todavia eso me hace sentir mal cara de picha... y digame ridiculo que yo tons le dijo hijo de puta... :-D

Bueno y volviendo a lo nuestro mal ride por los colombos coppiones, envidia por el mae que se llevo la muñequera, y saludos a todos los REAL IRONS!!!

PD El quie quiera ayuidar a sembrar a la finquita es bienvenido el que quiera hacer destruccion que se meta sus comentarios donde no llega el sol y sino puede que le pida ayuda a la mamita que lo pario!!!

Por cierto, me dijeron que en "La teja" publicaron una idiotez del concierto, algo asi como que "no se descuartizaron gallinas" o algo asi, la verdad no lo he leido, solo me contaron, pero si alguien tiene de casualidad esa imitación barata de periódico, que ponga aqui el email del imbecil reportero que escribió eso para mandarle un correo cagandomele.

Ya me explicaron bien lo que salió en La Teja, pero es mas bien una burla a los que le dicen Satanico a todo:

"Parece que las cadenas de oracion de las emisoras cristianas fueron muy exitosas porque el martes, en el concierto de Iron Maiden, nunca olio a azufre, nadie descuartizo a ninguna gallina en el escenario y el cachudo no se vio por ningun lado . Que decepcion!"
