How they struggle in Kazakhstan with mercenaries
For the second year law enforcement ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ the republic has been using the article ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ the criminal code ‘Taking part in foreign military conflicts’. The rightful wrath ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ the justice is aimed at citizens ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ Kazakhstan, who go abroad on their own to take part in military conflicts, where Kazakhstan is not officially involved. ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ course, the first thing which comes to mind is hundreds ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ our countrymen, who entered ISIS and now are coming home.
But it turned out to be the other way round. The threat has come out ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ where it wasn’t expected. Some young fellows travelled to South-East ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ Ukraine to support local militants. This is the biggest gap in the safety ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ Kazakhstan!
The greatest sleuths have been used against these fellows. Immediately after their return they are sued and trials are held for the quickest time possible. There are just a couple ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ proceedings enough to award a sentence. As defense notes, practically in all cases trial didn’t take into consideration the lack ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ proofs. And it obvious – Ukrainian separatists won’t give official certificate ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ participating in military actions. As there is no official confirmation, you can logically presuppose it.
The first tried offender was Yevgeniy Vdovenko, 30, from Akmolinsk region. He even didn’t participate in military actions, but handed out humanitarian aid, put out fires, tried to catch wreckers. Thus he got a mild punishment – 5 years ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ prison.
Then as an avalanche there appeared in mass media reports on trials for other volunteers, who had fought in Donbass, young people with pseudonyms ‘Rush’, ‘Terkin’, ‘Ninja’. Now they are all convicted, there was no a single verdict ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ not guilty.
Well, it may seem fair – there is article 172 ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ criminal code ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ Kazakhstan, if you break the law – take responsibility for it. But here we have a paradox. If we believe Ukrainian mass media and groups in social networks, there are Kazakhstan citizens in both sides ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ the conflict and there are a lot ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ our Russophobes in National Guard and ‘the right sector’. And no one ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ them has been put on trial so far. Maybe these people don’t return. And if so, will they get the same treatment after their all deeds?
According to KNB ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ Kazakhstan, in Syria-Iraq zone there fight for ISIS more than 400 citizens ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ Kazakhstan. Many ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ them have returned to the republic. Some dozens ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ mercenaries take part in military actions in Afghan-Pakistan zone. In mass media we managed to find just a mention about the trial for a couple ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ Jihadists, who even hadn’t left the country. And militants-returners are just observed by secret services, so that they couldn’t perform something illegal.
So, we see that Donetsk-Lugansk volunteers are more dangerous for the country than mercenaries ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ ISIS and Taliban. Here we have double standards ************SPAM/BANNEAR************ our justice. And the reason is – foreign policy toys.
